Have an idea you think is worth spreading? Doesn’t matter if it’s fully baked or professionally edited – our marketing team can help with that. Please take a look at some of these best practices and let us know what you are working on. We will get back to you in 1 business day on how we can move forward or how we can leverage it with something we may already be working on.
Best tips/practices for recording video:
- Look the part! Dress like you are (actually) at work and use one of our FTG Zoom backgrounds
- Speak up! Communicate clearly and with an extra dose of high-energy (but authentic) enthusiasm.
- Be Clear! If talking points on notes helps you avoid rabbit trails, do whatever it takes to stay on message.
- Know Your Audience! Remember those consuming this material will likely need the language as real-world and practical as possible, focused on a concise (2-3) main pain points with a clear solution.
- Start with WHY! Why is your message important? Give the main point upfront, explain the main point for a few minutes, and then end by summarizing the main point again. Great, clear example from our partner Hashicorp here.
- Show and Tell with Tools! Here’s a good tutorial on Zoom whiteboading (would be ideal with an iPad / Apple Pencil) if you’d like to utilize that, totally optional.
- Watch Your Time! Best practices are 5-7 minute video per webisode. Need longer? Consider a series where each “episode” begins and ends with a clear message and cues up the next.
Remember our inbound marketing methodology / funnel approach (basic version):
- TOP OF THE FUNNEL: Primarily leading with social media, quotes infographics, etc highlighting pain points that lead to solution oriented blog content.
- MIDDLE OF THE FUNNEL: Take blog activity to point to free downloads (factsheets, lead magnet PDF content) and upcoming webinars / virtual workshops.
- BOTTOM OF THE FUNNEL: Follow up (email, phone call) with targeted, value-driven messaging / differentiators, and offering virtual workshops and assessments which start conversations with reps/SAs/overlays.
